Nobody has time to visit every news site, so important stories get missed. Ajako Taja follows trusted outlets across every topic we cover, finds the stories many of them are reporting, and brings them together in one place as clear, short summaries — drafted by AI, reviewed by our team before they're published, and linked to every source.
Why we built this
We got tired of two problems everyone has. The first is noise: you open a feed and hit a wall of content, some breaking, some days old, and almost none of it tells you quickly why you should care. The second is the opposite: the news is spread across many outlets, and nobody has the time to check them all every day, so stories that matter simply pass you by. We wanted one place that shows the stories the most outlets are covering today.
The team at Guided Labs builds practical software for real problems. Ajako Taja started as an internal experiment — could we build a system that follows many outlets at once, recognises when several of them converge on the same story, and writes one useful summary with every source linked, so a reader gets the day's top stories without visiting each outlet?
The answer turned out to be yes. What began as a weekend prototype became a production platform covering tech, crypto, sports, global politics, entertainment, and more — with confidence scoring that favours stories several outlets are covering over one-off posts.
How it works
- 1Continuous monitoring — Our agents collect stories from news feeds across every topic we cover, every hour. AI then recognises when different outlets are covering the same event — even with different headlines, or in another language — and groups their reports into a single story.
- 2Confidence scoring — We score each story on four factors: how many sources cover it, how semantically coherent those stories are, how recent the coverage is, and whether named entities (people, places, organisations) agree. The scores help our team decide which stories to cover — stories already reported by multiple outlets in our sources can be approved automatically, and our team approves the rest before anything is written.
- 3AI summarisation — A large language model reads the outlets' reports and drafts a structured article in its own words — lead, key details, background, and why it matters. It's instructed to work only from the source material, and every article links to its sources so you can check.
- 4Human fact-check — A member of our team checks every draft against the source reports — headline, names, numbers, dates, attribution — fixes anything that doesn't match, checks the image, and only then publishes it.
- 5Personalised delivery — Stories are tagged to topics. You choose the topics you care about, and your For You feed shows only those stories. Everything else stays out of your way.
