Ajako Taja ("Today's Fresh News") exists to surface accurate, relevant, and timely global news in under one minute per article. We use AI as an editorial accelerator — not a replacement for journalistic responsibility. Our mission is to give readers a factual, balanced summary of events without noise, bias amplification, or misinformation.
We adhere to the principles of the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) and align our practices with Google News Publisher policies. We disclose our AI usage, acknowledge limitations, and prioritize corrections over self-preservation.
Our content pipeline is fully transparent. Every article on this platform is produced by the following automated process:
Our system continuously monitors RSS feeds, news APIs, and web sources across dozens of publishers. Topics are ranked by velocity score — the rate at which multiple independent sources begin reporting on the same event. Only topics crossing a configurable threshold are eligible for summarization.
For each qualifying topic, our system fetches content from a minimum of two independent source articles. This cross-referencing step reduces single-source errors and provides our AI with sufficient context to produce a balanced summary.
A large language model (currently Google Gemini) receives the aggregated source content alongside structured editorial instructions. The model is instructed to:
Separately from article content, our AI generates SEO titles, meta descriptions, and relevant hashtags. These are editorial metadata only and do not alter factual content.
Featured images are not AI-generated. Each one is rendered programmatically: a gradient background in the niche's brand color with the headline overlaid as styled text, composed using the open-source `sharp` image-processing library. They are abstract brand graphics and do not depict real individuals, events, or locations. Rendered images are stored on our CDN before being attached to articles.
We apply the following criteria when evaluating whether a source is eligible to feed our pipeline:
We periodically review active sources and remove feeds that no longer meet these criteria. Removing a source does not retroactively alter articles already published from it — those remain with source credit intact but may receive an editorial note if the source is later found to have published inaccurate content.
Before publication every article passes through automated validation:
Large language models can generate plausible-sounding but false content ("hallucinations"). We mitigate this by constraining the model to summarize only content provided in the prompt context — the model is not permitted to draw on parametric (training) knowledge for factual claims. Temperature settings are kept low (≤0.3) for article generation to reduce creativity at the cost of factual variance.
We do not send reporters to scenes. We do not conduct original interviews. We cannot independently verify claims made exclusively by a single source that our pipeline cannot cross-reference. In such cases, we clearly attribute the claim to its origin rather than stating it as established fact.

Readers can report factual errors by emailing ajakotaja@gmail.com with the article URL, the specific inaccuracy, and, where available, a primary source link supporting the correction.
Corrected articles are updated in-place and appended with a dated correction note identifying what was changed and why. The original incorrect version is not preserved publicly. The article's dateModified schema timestamp is updated to reflect the correction.
If an article is found to be wholly inaccurate (e.g., based on a fabricated source or a source that issued a full retraction), the article is unpublished and replaced with a retraction notice that explains why. The URL is preserved to prevent broken external links.
